Amtrak entering the 6.2 mile Moffat tunnel. The Moffat Tunnel is a railroad and water tunnel that cuts through the Continental Divide in north-central Colorado. The six-mile bore eliminated the treacherous main line over Rollins Pass, providing a shorter route from the Midwest to the Salt Lake basin.
